Rooted together for the North

We drove to Rouyn-Noranda to attend the Canadian Botanical Conference.

The theme was boreal forests.

The Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue | UQUAT where the meeting took place has its own research forest! The trails were lined with bunchberries in flower (below).

Tamara's poster on the chemical and genetic analysis of protective layers in abscission zones impressed the botanists and tied for first place.
