Carleton x Cannabis Orchards

Celebrating our second year of partnership with Cannabis Orchards Inc., an innovative Canadian company specializing in feminized seed production and research into minor cannabinoids.

Unintended pollination can negatively impact cannabinoid yields for hemp farmers. By breeding triploid hemp varieties with sterile flowers, we can optimize yields and increase revenue for hemp cultivators.

A highlight of our summer was visiting the Cannabis Orchards production site where fields of minor cannabinoid hemp plants were in full bloom. Laura Kelly is a MITACS funded graduate student who works on the project.
